Working with a quilt sized piece of wool is difficult if not impossible, so dividing the quilt up into blocks solves that problem, but how do you iron the seams when those gorgeous embellishment stitches are so close to the seams? The answer is THE STRIP STICK.

This handy tool allows you to iron seams flat without distorting the embellishment stitches nearby. Let me show you how it works. I chose the 18″ strip stick because the quilts I was working on at the time were less than 18″.

Place the curved side up under the seam, and iron. That is it. Beautiful flat seams and no flat stitches!
