Silly me. I thought once I finished the 12th block, I was almost done. I guess I am, but sewing them together took longer than 2 blocks. I guess I need practice piecing. I sure got good use out of my handy dandy Strip Stick. It works so well to keep your fancy embellishment stitches …
Wooly Fun Club
Wooly Fun Club: September
The LAST BLOCK!!! And this one was definitely challenging. Mostly the rosette chain stitch around the tree. The tension on that stitch is tricky. This block almost makes me sad because it represents the end of our monthly club and I miss seeing those ladies.
Wooly Fun Club: August
This should be my favorite block. I LOVE sunflowers. They remind me of my oldest daughter. Sadly I had to wait forever to work on this block — I put all of my projects on hold to finish Oh Little Town of Bethlehem. Now it is complete. Just one more block to go.
Wooly Fun Club: June
May seemed so complicated! But there were only 2 new stitches and they weren’t new to me. I love how the shimmer floss in the leaves sparkles in hues from the rest of the project.
Wooly Fun Club: April
I heard someone say “If you want something perfect, then buy something machine made.” This block is the epitome of that statement. In retrospect the background cotton is too high, leaving not enough room for the raindrops. But I didn’t even realize it until the very end when I was making raindrops. And I keep …
Wooly Fun Club: November
This fun block was our second month in the club. Lots of new stitches. The two pumpkins were part of the original design. Later after I had more practice with my stitching, I redid the brown swirl vine and added the sea grass wheat stalks. So fun!
Wooly Fun Club: December
This adorable little guy was a great opportunity for me to see a patterned/textured wool used to add color. The couching on the tree was a fun new stitch too.
Wooly Fun Club: February
The four little blocks are a fun twist on February’s Wooly Fun Club block. Several brand new stitches–including adding beads.
Wooly Fun Club: March
I had to miss WFC in March. Our family was on a Make-a-Wish trip to Disneyland. But once I got my March kit in April, I tweaked the design a bit: I removed the letters, added a cloud in the background, and enlarged the kite. I think it fits well with the other blocks.
Wooly Fun Club: January
January was four months into this wooly adventure. Still I just completed the snowflake in the center (as the pattern instructed). Once I had completed a few more blocks, I decided to go back and add some little snowflakes in the corners. I love how it turned out!
